  • Grouping undergraduate students by class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
  • Grouping by Graduate majors and minors

*** OIT Announcement *** *** Microsoft Office Upgrade Notice ***

Date and Time: Starting May 16th, 2005
Users affected: Faculty, Staff Services affected: Microsoft Office (PC and MAC)

Beginning Monday May 16th, the OIT/Users Services team will begin the process of upgrading faculty and staff workstations to **MS Office 2003 for PC users**, and **MS Office 2004 for Mac users**. OIT estimates each installation will take approximately 2 hours. In addition to the MS Office upgrade, OIT will also conduct workstation preventive maintenance. This maintenance will include but is not limited to the following:

* installation of critical Windows/MAC system updates,
* installation of the latest McAfee\Virex anti-virus protection with updates,
* installation of Adobe Reader 7.0,
* installation of the latest Novell client (PC only),
* installation of a free PDF file creator (CutePDF, PC only).

Like prior upgrades, OIT/Users Services will upgrade faculty workstations without an appointment. Faculty whose offices have deadbolt locks, please make keys available to the secretaries so we can get into your office. If you would prefer to be present for the upgrade, please call the Help Desk at Ext. 7000 or email to helpdesk@rider.edu , and someone will contact you to schedule an appointment.

OIT strongly recommends that faculty and staff save/backup all important documents on their local area network (LAN) drives (G:\ and H:\) prior to the upgrade.
In all cases, each OIT technician will leave a card on the workstation keyboard indicating who was there, the date and time, and what was changed on the workstation.

We will upgrade workstations by building. Below is a tentative schedule.
