We just recently moved over to Blackboard 7 from Blackboard 6. One of the major changes between the two versions is the layout of the Discussion Boards. In Blackboard 6, all the threads and posts were viewed in one long listing on one webpage. In Blackboard 7, the Discussion Boards are organized and grouped into threads on one web page. Then, you need to click on the thread link to view all the posts related to that thread, taking you to a new page, with all the posts just for that thread. Some people liked this new organization. It provided a cleaner interface, but some people liked the option of seeing everything all at once, then searching by author, date, etc. Here’s a way you can view posts and sort by authors in Blackboard 7.
1. Log into Bb. Click on Discussion Board
2. Click on the forum you want to view
3. At the bottom left, click the Go button next to “Select All”
4. With all the treads checked, click on the Collect button at the top.
5. At the top right, you can sort by author. Choose Author in the drop down and click on the Go button.
